If you intend to use a GPS system in Ireland then systems based on NAVTEQ digital maps provide better overall coverage than systems using the Tele-Atlas mapping.
Garmin Street Pilot systems use NAVTEQ and would be ideal for most of Ireland. The Navman and TomTom GPS products use Tele Atlas map data so unfortunately are not suitable for use in rural Ireland but would be fine for use in Irish cities and abroad.
